Scholarships FAQs

Occasionally, full scholarships are given in cases of extreme hardship, but generally scholarships are based on individual need and are a percentage of the cost of camp. The parent or guardian must pay any portion not covered by scholarship.

Scholarships are made possible through direct donations of individuals and organizations. Scholarship money is not raised from the fees we charge our campers.

All prospective campers in financial, spiritual, and emotional need, both individuals and families, are eligible to apply. Campers who have not been given a scholarship to Pine Cove or attended Pine Cove will be considered first. Applicants who have received assistance in the past may be eligible for scholarships again. The scholarship program is not available for groups or churches.

Our goal is to award over $2,000,000 in scholarships, so it’s likely, but not guaranteed. Each application is reviewed by our scholarship committee and awards are made based on financial, spiritual and emotional need.

No. If awarded a scholarship, your registration will only be complete once you’ve accepted the scholarship offer and paid the deposit.

You are only eligible to receive a Youth Camp or a Family Camp Scholarship, but not both in the same summer.

Yes! However, your scholarship will only be considered and applied to one of the two weeks for a two-week session. All youth camp scholarships are only eligible for one week per camper, per summer.

If you are already registered, a scholarship award will apply to that week. If you are not registered, we cannot offer preferences for weeks. We’ll inform you of week eligibility at the time we award the scholarship.

There is no due date for summer camp scholarships. Our committee will begin awarding scholarships for the following summer beginning in September. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we encourage you to apply early. For conferences, all applications must be submitted 60 days prior to the start of the conference unless we have verbally confirmed otherwise.
